THE CITY OF FLEMINGSBURG HAS AN IMMEDIATE OPENING FOR A TEMPORARY SANITATION WORKER.
Successful applicant will be collecting and disposing of garbage and refuse in traffic daily and during all weather conditions.
The Sanitation worker will work with and report to Public Works Director Joe Dunaway, or such other person as Mr. Dunaway may designate.
The City of Flemingsburg is accepting applications for a temporary full-time position. All applicants must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED). No previous work experience is required.
Duties include but are not limited to collecting garbage and refuse on assigned daily routes, empties containers in collection vehicle, assists in performing preventive maintenance and repairs on collection vehicle, assist in cleaning and sanitizing collection vehicle, and mowing and weed eating around the city.
The job will require work to be performed outdoors regardless of weather conditions, requiring continuous standing and walking, lifting objects weighing more than 25 pounds, working in traffic and around hydraulic equipment.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
May be required to perform on-call duties; must be able to respond to calls in emergency situations at all hours.
