There was a special meeting of the Flemingsburg City Council Monday, June 20, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the city annex.  Council members present were Ricky Hurst, Kathy Moore, Scott Manning, Georgianna Sparks, Meredith Story, and Van Alexander.  Mayor Martin L. Voiers presided.

               Councilman Hurst led the Pledge of Allegiance.

               City Clerk/Treasurer Joy Roark presented the second reading of Ordinance No. 6-16-1 adopting the annual General Fund budget for fiscal year July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017.  Councilman Hurst moved to approve.  Councilwoman Moore seconded the motion.  A roll call was given with council voting as follows:  Hurst-yes, Moore-yes, Manning-yes, Sparks-yes, Story-yes, and Alexander-yes.  Motion carried.

               City Clerk/Treasurer Joy Roark presented the second reading of Ordinance No. 6-16-2 adopting the annual Utility System budget for natural gas, water, and wastewater for fiscal year July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017.  Councilman Story moved to approve.  Councilman Manning seconded the motion.  A roll call was given with council voting as follows:  Hurst-yes, Moore-yes, Manning-yes, Sparks-yes, Story-yes, and Alexander-yes.  Motion carried.

               City Clerk/Treasurer Joy Roark presented the second reading of Ordinance No. 6-16-3 adopting the annual budget for CATV Franchise Fees for the fiscal year July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017.  Councilman Manning moved to approve.  Councilwoman Sparks seconded the motion.  A roll call was given with council voting as follows:  Hurst-yes, Moore-yes, Manning-yes, Sparks-yes, Story-yes, and Alexander-yes.  Motion carried.

               Council discussed the bids received for the distribution center roof.  Mayor Voiers reviewed the bids and they met the specs provided.  However, all bids exceeded the amount allowed in the budget for the roof project.  Councilman Story moved to reject all bids, review the specs and consider re-advertising for bids.  Councilwoman Sparks seconded the motion.  Council voted as follows:  Hurst-yes, Moore-yes, Manning-yes, Sparks-yes, Story-yes, and Alexander-yes.  Motion carried.

               Councilman Manning moved to adjourn at 6:15 p.m.
