There was a special meeting of the Flemingsburg City Council Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 5:30 p.m. in the City Annex.  Council members present were Ricky Hurst, Scott Manning, Georgianna Sparks, Meredith Story, and Van Alexander.  Mayor Martin L. Voiers presided.

                Councilman Hurst led the Pledge of Allegiance.

                City Attorney Tom MacDonald reviewed a resolution authorizing the loan agreement between the City and KIA for funding to proceed with construction of a new wastewater treatment plant.  Councilman Story moved to adopt.  Councilman Alexander seconded the motion.  Council voted as follows:  Hurst-yes, Manning-yes, Sparks-yes, Story-yes, and Alexander-yes.  Motion carried.

            Councilman Story moved to go into executive session pursuant to KRS 61.810, section 1, sub-section F: Discussions or hearings which might lead to the appointment, discipline, or dismissal of an individual employee, member, or student without restricting that employee's, member's, or student's right to a public hearing if requested.  Councilman Hurst seconded the motion.  Council voted as follows:  Hurst-yes, Manning-yes, Sparks-yes, Story-yes, and Alexander-yes.  Motion carried.

 

            Councilman Story moved to go out of executive session.  Councilman Hurst seconded the motion.  Council appointed Adam Hinton to fill the unexpired term of former council member Isaac Sapp.

 

            There being no further business, Councilman Manning moved to adjourn at 5:55 p.m.
