There was a special meeting of
the Flemingsburg City Council Monday, May 2, 2011 at 5:45 p.m. in the City
Annex. Council members present were
Ricky Hurst, Isaac Sapp, Scott Manning, Georgianna Sparks, Meredith Story, and
Van Alexander. Mayor Martin L. Voiers
presided.
Councilman Alexander led the Pledge
of Allegiance.
Council discussed construction of a
road to the City’s property on the by-pass.
Councilman Story, who is also a member of Group Three Development,
stated that his group would have to scale back the construction of their road
to code regulations due to budget constraints if the City does not contribute
to the costs. The road will only be
constructed to the entrance of their property and will not extend to the City’s
property line. It was noted that the
State has refused to give the City direct access from the by-pass due to the
City’s property being located too close to the intersection.
After a brief discussion Councilman
Hurst moved that the City not contribute to the construction costs of the
road. Councilman Alexander seconded the
motion. Council voted as follows: Hurst-yes, Sapp-yes, Manning-yes, Sparks-yes,
and Alexander-yes. Councilman Story
abstained.
There being no further business
Councilman Manning moved to adjourn. Councilwoman
Sparks seconded the motion.
