The Flemingsburg City Council held a special meeting Monday, September 18, 2006 at 5:30 p.m. in the City Annex. Council members present were Marty Voiers, Carl Haight, Nancy Suit, Georgianna Sparks, Meredith Story, and Scott Manning. Mayor Louie K. Flanery presided.
Councilwoman Sparks led the Pledge of Allegiance. Mayor Flanery opened the bids for the new fire truck. Bids presented were as follows: Rosenbauer - $204,449; Pierce Manufacturing - $202,777; Crimson Fire Co. - $199,999; VSI - $216,384. VSI also presented an alternate bid for a different model of $187,578. Mayor Flanery stated that Fire Chief Jerry McCloud and his officers would review the bids and compare them to the specifications. Councilman Story suggested the Fire Chief bring back the lowest best bid, not necessarily the lowest bid. Councilman Haight moved to refer the matter to the Finance Committee. Councilman Story seconded the motion. All were in favor. Chief McCloud stated it might take a week or more to review the bids.
Mayor Flanery presented a resolution for bond funds in the amount of $45,000 to be used for resurfacing on Country View Heights and Amanda Brooke Drive. Councilman Haight moved to adopt the resolution. Councilman Manning seconded the motion. All were in favor.
City Clerk Joy Roark presented the first reading of Ordinance No. 9-06-4 regulating adult entertainment establishments. Councilman Voiers moved to approve. Councilwoman Suit seconded the motion. The floor was opened for discussion. Councilman Story suggested the following changes: Page 10 (I) change the application fee to an investigation fee; (J) conflicts with the existing Occupational Tax Ordinance; Page 15 (B) signage conflicts with the existing Zoning Ordinance. Mayor Flanery instructed the Special Ordinance Committee to meet with the City Attorney regarding this matter.
There being no further business Councilman Manning moved to adjourn at 6:00 p.m. Councilman Haight seconded the motion. All were in favor.
